SCG History

Stands History

Since its inception, the SCG Trust has been committed to developing the SCG into a world class venue for Australian sport. Recognised internationally as a sporting icon, revered by sportsmen and spectators alike, the SCG boasts an array of heritage listed architectural features, among them the Members Pavilion and Ladies Pavilion.

These two iconic Pavilions have witnessed many of Australia's most memorable sporting moments, including the bodyline cricket Test series, the 1938 Empire Games, and some of the greatest Rugby League, Rugby Union and AFL games that have ever been played.

While the Trust will maintain the Members Pavilion and Ladies Pavilion for future generations to enjoy, it has also replaced other, less significant stands as the demands for spectator comfort and modern facilities grow.
